SO I am coming back

from Afghanistan. I clear customs in Boston. I am catching the puddle jumper to MV--and I get stopped by security. This guy is digging through my bag--which is to say, all of my uniforms--still have Afghany dust on them--and I ask "What are you looking for "Don't interfere Sir" a few more minutes, "Look, I was in combat three days ago, I am not going to miss my flight" "Sir, stop interfering with my official duties. AHA here, they are --THESE ARE NOT ALLOWED!" K-bar? Frag grenade I forgot about? 9mm? Mustache Scissors-----

I've been working in the Combating Terrorism arena, at the policy/strategic level, since 1997. Just as a touchstone--been thinkin about this stuff since way before 911. A few questions, in no particular order--

If you knew that I was trying to manipulate you into acting a certain way that benefitted me and harmed you, how would you respond?

What is the difference between a bomb exploding on a plane or in the security queue?

Are you more concerned with your life or your childs?

What has a greater return on a dollar security or education?

Okay, I could ask a million of them-- one last one
Who does/did combating terrorism the best?
