For ALL sailors on the board

Posted by Tracy Y on 1/29/2006, 11:33:57
For my book (because it's been SOOOOO long since I've sailed) - I have a couple questions.

When you are doing a man-over-board rescue, you always pick up on the leeward side, right? Are you always supposed to jibe in a rescue as well? I just can't remember the details.

Also, what's your funniest "falling overboard" or "man-over-board rescue" story? I know when I was learning how to pick someone up, it wasn't as easy as I thought to get close enough to just grab them out of the water. If the fallen sailor couldn't swim, they would've been in the water a long time until I could get it right. LOL

If you don't want to post, please email me at dawntracer@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
