Pool fences... not standard here

Posted by Sheri on 1/30/2006, 15:38:51, in reply to "Re: same stats here in AZ"
In our municipality they passed a fencing by-law a couple of yrs ago. It's based on above ground pool height and whether or not the ladder comes off. We're rural so chg is slower.

In the cities pool fencing is pretty much mandatory in most municipalities.

I started swimming early but I think Greg's finally mature enough to follow the instruction and when we were in the pool a mth ago... he still panicked at the water b/c he couldn't touch. Russ is a fish, and we can take him to a pool with a lifeguard with the IBI team this summer. So we probably will. In the fall I'll put Greg into lessons.

The ponds are across the road and will be off limits until they are much older. We just have a small wading pool at the moment. I think it's 8'x12'x 24" or so and I never keep it full. Plus, when there's water in it, they aren't allowed outside without me there. I had a small fence when they had their little wading pool and were younger but it doesn't reach around this one.
