Brenda, what's QMIH again?

Posted by Simone on 9/5/2005, 0:39:25, in reply to "okay ladies...help me....and random ramblings to follow.....:)"
Brenda,

thanks for the fun posts, and all the questions you ask Tom. He's pretty awesome too for answering them back, thanks Tom...

you've probably already explained and sorry for the repeat, but what's the QMIH stand for?

Your recent stories about the kids playing baseball struck a cord, which brought me out to write this. I don't post much, but I'm fairly new here and too scared to say the wrong thing and get flamed for it. I'm not much of a chatter/poster/blogger. but I like to stop by and read here and there. I'm a baseball nut, and play a lot of league softball so I know how it gets when you run into folks who Just Dont Understand, like the little girl in the dress. but how cute is she to actually get out there and try? guess she won't be trying again for a while after that, and certainly not infield - that's what right field is for gotta love kids and the way their minds work. I don't have any, but I have
a dog (I ask WWMDD when it's time to walk my dog...she says go, turn here, stop, go, stop, stop, go-stop, wha? go home? aw mom...),
a husband of 8 years who lets me do whatever I want (which is pretty damn awesome), and
a Little Sister (from Big Brothers/Big Sisters) we've been matched for over 5 years and she's sports minded as well (awesome soccer player-kicks butt and scores goals.) She teaches me more than I could ever teach her, but she says she learns something new from me every day. (probably because she's quiet and I can't seem to shut up-blah blah blah)

I wish I could help with the clothes thing, but I'm 5'11" and 170 so I have a different kind of problem, finding pants that are long enough (although in the past few years the availability of long length pants in the stores like Old Navy has been much much better.) My suggestion would be to check out Land's End online. You can order CUSTOM FIT items. and if they don't fit well or you just don't like them you can return them, even down the street to your local Sears store! (you don't HAVE to mail it back anymore.) Good luck with that. Now shoes...I used to have a really tough time there, with a size 11 by the time I was 15. (we're talking 25 years ago) My mom would take me to this place in San Francisco that had large size women's shoes. In October there were always men there trying on the scariest looking high heels for the Castro party on Halloween. hilarious. Nowadays there's always Nordstrom...
