A couple I know, married many years, ran a riding stable together. She did the teaching and horse stuff, he did the business side of things and carpentry and whatnot.
Anyway, they each called each other "boss." In a friendly way, of course. "Hey, boss, where do you want this hay?" or whatever. I always liked that.
