I'm not sure about your question - my instinctive feeling would be that no good comes of any country becoming a superpower, except to those within that country. British Empire: great for us, possibly not so much fun for the rest of the world. But maybe that's stupidly simplistic. I suppose all I was saying is that you can't fault the Chinese for wanting to be as prosperous and powerful as possible.
