Because you cannot use scienctific "predictions" as proof of a "theory". And most of these types of discussions do not take into account the "human factor" of increased brain power, or man power.
The issue in most countries where population is an issue is not necessarily the sheer number. Other factors, like forced famine for political control is an aggravating issue. In which case any population is a problem.
