With all the people currently out of work, finding laborers shouldn't be too hard. The economy will do the same things as the economies of WWI and WWII and all the other wars. It will suck and thrive by stages. Ultimately, it will survive.

The Iraq War will "pay for itself" was one of the selling points of dear old king george. Go back through some of his speeches and you'll find where it was predicted that the oil would flow and pay for "Iraq's liberation". Yeah... love how THAT part of the plan seems to be going.
