When our country was new and

the Constitution was practiced. We've gotten away from that and the majority isn't involved anymore. And often, people vote with a party, not having studied what they're voting for. Many people don't realize that they CAN make a difference, just by being informed.

So, NO, people are not involved in government anymore, not the way our forefathers planned. But our forefathers didn't anticipate the technology we have today, which has changed so many aspects of our existence.

I'm not sure when the change took place. I think it was gradual, along with the technology. But the change is definitely apparent.
