Really?

A major tenet of my work in combatting terrorism is keeping perspective. So, consider your whole life--as fragile as it might seem--but in terms of sociopolitical, economic and physical security, I challenge you to find any society that has ever been safer than you are right now. Longevity is up, child mortality is down, health care needs work but is is still very good, same for education, etc--and nearly 100 times more people die of obesity a YEAR than died in all terror attacks combined. Terrorism is psychological warfare, to defeat it you have to meet it in the mind as well as the physical world.
