Re: Self defense question

I think you did well by letting us figure it out! Good on ya LT:)
I do have a situation I would like to run by ya..it is about domestic violence...I have been counseling women for 15 years...and until you said to me..."figure it out" (and I don't know why it just dawned on me...duh)...I realized we were counseling from a reactive instead of proactive position....I dealt with the victims...and on an average women will leave and return to an abuser 7 times...I am smacking myself in the head and hanging it in shame...I should have thought more about what to do when it happens again...although we did "safety plan" it was more generic...where to hide money, extra keys and meds....things like that...not so much about how to stop him from physically attacking you....but how to get away (to a shelter) when he does...geez, talk about an epiphany...there is a different dynamic at work sure, but I just realized how much I could have been suggesting...I had a woman last month he literrally beat her from head to toe with a broom, she was trying to get away and stuck her hand through a plexi-glass storm window adding several deep cuts to her wrist to go with the B&B....the bad part about it is she never let me know. I discovered all of the physical stuff three days after she was in shelter...she was at the point were it was no big deal...I was horrified...she should have had several stiches in the wrist alone....anyway I guess what I am asking is that the scenerio we went through seemed to be a stranger attack...we the same principles work for an acquantince/boyfriend/husband...etc...since most attacks happen from someone a woman knows...do we need another think session?
Thanks, really I mean that, made me think outside the 15 year old box I was stuck in...shaking head sadly:( You are a good teacher:)
