Can you actually train/teach "listening to your instincts". Absolutely--Andrea's comments are germane. People get very use to not listening to their instincts and not connecting with the world around them--reversing it possible.

Does the attunement to instincts stay as strongly with you outside of the combat environment? It can, but you'll be crazy shortly. A friend stated I must see the world diffeently, how would I explain it. (Note-he didn't ask if I saw it differently) I said I always see the likely threat vectors and the best exits.
Or are your instincts triggered by certain stimuli related to the "job"? Spidy sennses definetly tingle based on stimuli--but it is just a matter of choosing to concentrate otherwise

I have never seen it happen and extracts go as planned over 80% of the time---as planned has some wiggle room though
