Get pregnant...

this is what some of my co-workers did. They won't deploy a pregnant woman to an overseas location where proper pre- and post-natal care may not be available.

Also, if they have any children and they are both going to be deployed she may be able to get her deployment delayed due to "hardship" reasons. If neither of them have relatives that can care for the children with both of them gone there is a good chance for getting a hardship delay.

She will probably have to do a tour at some point unless her hitch runs out in the meantime.
