Tom, could you clarify just a little more?

Re your answer about the leadership book. When you say "everyone" wants leadership books that reflects their personalities, is everyone the book buying public, the publishers or the author? I would put someone like Stephen Covey in that category. Let's agree that many leadership authors want to portray themselves as the living personifications of leadership qualities and wisdom. Fine.

But can you now, after seeing two huge threads of lively discussion on this topic, consider that there might be an interest in a different type of book on this subject: less about the author and more about the topic. Not that personal anecdotes that illuminate the discussion aren't valuable (like the West Marine story and the forwarding of the junior officers memos).

Not trying to flog a dead horse: just wondering.

Janet
