Can you explain

Posted by Tracy Y on 11/9/2005, 10:43:01, in reply to "my two bits"
how people have not changed in 10,000 years? What about crime statistics? Have they stayed the same? What about drug trafficking and addiction? What about giving your word and having it mean something? Those things have always been the same?

And how could we have a decline in government if people are the same as they've been for the last 10,000 years? It would be the same, so I don't understand what you're saying.

I would really like to see your statistics on that.

Someone offline told me my post could have been read as a pro-religion post, and I want to clarify. If my post is a pro-religion post, then that would take the freedom of choice away from the people and give it to religion. Religion is just a smokescreen most of the time. A lot of people hide behind their religion. But religion can also teach good things. I don't care WHERE people learn values, I just want them to learn them. If they aren't learning them from religion, then learn them somewhere else. But if religion is the only way for them to learn it, then I'm pro-religion.

Personally, I have more faith in man and believe that values start with individual choice.
