could you please explain the Star Trek communicator thingamajigs (yes, I know they were the infrared somthing) a little better... Hard to grasp an explanation in chat. Thanks!

And I could consider this my prize for winning... I'm sorry I just can't let it go... first time I win something and there's no prize... can't cross it off my "10 things to do before 50" list unless there is one. ;)
