My thought

is that the Founders created a nation of laws. To do so, they had to exercise some pretty incredible virtue--or conversly, avoid some pretty human desires. I believe that those were exceptional men and women--but alas, everything tends toward the mean and eventually society doesn't like being led by exceptional people because those people require--or inspire--the average to "step it up a bit". So, I fervantly believe that it is our duty to obey the highest law in the land or to change it. To do so will require courage, fidelity, self-lessness etc. You can't ignore the IV Amendment because you are afraid. So, I am specifically speaking to the virtues that enabled the creation of the nation laws
