Is it not possible to suppose they wrote these doc's for the future? Re: You have to think in time

I totally agree with...look both at the time of the writers and the documents written, and also at the times we live in and the possibilities implicit in the documents.

Why not? With the miracle of the time and people present at the founding of our nation and the outcome of that rebellion, could it not also include the writing of a document that made possible concepts and possibilities that man by his very nature may never fully achieve in any period of passing time?

I really do nto think we have begun to touch the possibilities to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness implicit in the Declaration let alone all the potential of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We take baby steps still and at times I regret we fall back and are not yet qualified to hang on to an end table and stand.
This discussion is good example of us reaching for the potential of the documents and gifts that were given us by our fore fathers.
