Brave name for your business

Posted by Kathy S. on 9/26/2005, 10:59:02, in reply to "I worked in a Navy Think tank"
The IRS is really cracking down on Off-Shore accounts (people trying to hide income), so I would think a company name like Off-Shore Consulting would inadvertantly set off lots of bells and whistles. Cool name though.

We have 3 S-corps for the same reason, shield ourselves from liability. Unfortunately we can't set up our investment firm as anything but a schedule C due to home office compliance rules. But, we have insurance to cover that.

Thanks for the info. Since you said most of those gigs were one time while you were in the Navy, are you still doing the consulting now, or are you going to make us truly envious and tell us you are spending your days fishing and enjoying the retired life? Also, someone asked before if you skydive now for fun, don't remember your answer, but curious if you dive for fun too, or did you get tired of that in the Navy?
