supporting troops vs war protest

I don't want to start a discussion about whether we should be in Iraq (too volatile) but I have a question. Some people say that if you express disagreement with the President's war policy, you are undermining the mission, putting the troops in greater danger and/or hurting morale.

I'm sure part of this is individual: I've heard some soldiers say that it bothered them, and I've heard others say that they are fighting to protect freedom of speech and that people should say what they believe.

Can you speak to this, Tom? Is it possible to protest the decision to go to war in Iraq and/or protest the way the war is being waged, and still support the troops? Are there some words or actions that are more damaging than others?
