Jeanne - I have read his book and had the pleasure of meeting him in person. As the old saying goes "you can't judge a book by it cover" and actually he is quite charming, despite what most people say about him. However, I did find him to be shorter than I thought he would be.

But first and foremost, I respect him as a former US Navy Seal and his service to this country.

No matter how he writes it down, everyone has their own interpretation of what it is like to be a Seal. I really think, however, that he would prefer to appeal to a more masculine audience than a female one.

Actually, as a female who has worked in the maritime industry, a male dominated industry I might add, I was quite entertained by his books and was not offended in the least by them.

He is an interesting character in both real life as well as fictional and I believe an officer of the U.S. Navy at heart.

He is a former seal who continues to make a living with his security firm and writes about scenarios of that can be either captioned as "real life" or "real fiction".

You just need to take it all in stride and sift through the obvious bullshit and grin at the antics he does in his books. That's why they call it FICTION. Although, it does make you wonder, can this really happen? There are certainly scenarios that seem plausible if not real.

Dick Marcinko is not one of Suz's seal characters nor would he fit in. We all have a deep affection for Suz's Seals and they are special to us. But US.Navy Seals (former and current) are comprised of all different types of personalities. Dick Marcinko's books reflects his particular personality and views. Take a leap of faith and read the book. It just might be interesting!
