Re: Tom-Question re: Israel

I am not an expert on Israel, by any stretch. But at this point I believe that they are strong enough and wealthy enough, and there are enough Palestinians who are desiring unconditional peace, to stop catering to the extremists. Why do the P terrorists want Israel to bull doze buildings and kill leaders? They KNOW that is what is going to happen after they strike—so why do they seek the result? Because the P terrorists need to fuel the hatred. They need instability and reaction---so, I believe as politically untenable it is, Israel has to not respond to terrorist attacks—it isn’t weakness it is extreme strength. As the dynamic changes the terrorists will seek to escalate because they don’t want the relationship to change, but by not responding to the extreme voice, the moderate voice will emerge. Terrorism is NEVER about killing as many as you can 'cause that will never be enough--it is about manipulation

Never forget the actions taken by Israeli leaders against the British and others that brokered the deal…I am not judging them I am just saying that at different times in history, just about every country/wannabe has been really unreasonably cruel.
