I spend more time doing basic procedural training and working the floor (where I'm "leading by example" by getting into the "trenches" with my group), than I do anything else.
On thing I am definitely working towards is metoring and training members to move into "leadership" (read: management) positions. Honestly, I learning to deligate so much, so I have time to work on the second part of your definition.
