Not Really

Posted by Tom on 9/6/2005, 9:27:41, in reply to "Couple of Questions for Tom"
I worked with some Royal Marines in Dominica (funny story) and was the liaison to 1 UK Div in the Iraq go round. Didn't really ever work with SBS or SAS. I had a friend that did an exchange tour with the SBS and had a good time--went to war with them and had no complaints.
I love working with your lads because I think that they have a much better attitude in general than the US. Very pragmatic, not overly in love with technology and very straight forward. The biggest differnce I saw was that where we would seek a technology solution you guys would seek a human solution. If you walked into one of our tactical operations centers (TOC) AND you were really good, you could figure out what was going on in 10 minutes--plasma screens, computers, chat rooms, electronic symbols---walk nto 1 UK DIv TOC and they have the room size map out with little tanks and stuff on it and you know what is going on the instant you look at it.
Cheers!
