Personally.....

for me, the biggest thing I can do to China is simply quit buying their shit. Which I'm already doing. Now if I can just get everybody else to start doing that I might be onto something.

Seriously, if you want to buy something, pick it up and look at it carefully. If it says "Made in China" (I don't care how pretty is is) put it down, walk directly over to the store manager and explain to him/her that although you do want Item X, you do NOT want Item X if it's made in China. When the store starts stocking things made in America and NOT in China, they can have some more of your money.

I've gotten some strange looks from managers by doing this, but I also notice that my home is becoming less and less crowded with crap that I truly can live without.

There are some things that you simply have to buy because of true need (like your sheets now have holes in them or you can read the newspaper through your bathtowels etc. Try first and foremost to buy American, but then do what you have to do. But seriously, how many purely schlock items do we buy that we truly do not need?

Considering all the crap that is also made in Taiwan... maybe we ought to let China have em. Same thing with buying Taiwaneese, Indian, Mylasian etc.

Playing devil's advocate here. l-D
