Example

Here's a very basic example off the top of my head (and remember this may not be where Tom is trying to lead us). Pretend Intel outsources the manufacture of their computer chips to China. China manufactures 90% of all their chips. The US military uses these chips in all of their computers and 85% of civilian computers operate using these chips. China becomes upset over a tariff the US levies b/c of human rights violations. China retaliates by either levying a stiff tariff of its own on the chips or refusing to export to the US. Without the use of military force, China has threatened communications and all other computer functions of the US military and effectively disabled business functions with dire consequences to the economy. Is this happening right now? Not to my knowledge. Could it happen? Maybe.
