Here's a link to AAR's annual best books of 2005 column, which includes a senior editor's conversion kit. I couldn't agree more on Welcome to Temptation - just one small caveat - could I still be friends with someone to whom I had given that book, who afterwards said they didn't like it? I'm not sure ... hence my reluctance to suggest books very often. If they're already reading around the edges of the genre, then making suggestions can be a lot of fun. And all bets are off it they're a captive audience - like you're on vacation and they can't get to a bookstore!
