I think Tom raises some good points in relation to teams, namely that the term is used so loosely these days. It seems that every time a group is put together it is a "team" when the function of the group really isn't as a team.

Regardless, in answer to your question, I don't think the team concept really has a place in family. I think a family is a completely different dynamic. Also, different families are all so different from one another that I don't think you can really lay down one concept for all...it just won't work. I know my words are not coming well right now, but I think the family dynamic varies so much, not just between families, but even within families over time, that you can't really stick to anything hard and fast. So much of it depends on individual personalities that they are all completely their own.
