A potato farmer know exactly where all his potatos are ... in rows and shallow to the ground. When they harvest them they use a machine that looks like a convaer belt that they use at air ports... it scoops up about the first 12" of dirt and sifts the potatos out and the belt takes them to the top and dumps them in trucks. I could see where a machine similar to that for mines may be useful.
