I have only been in a huey 3-4 times. Never with the doors on, But when you are at speed, the upwind (forward guy) has to holler about at the top of his lungs from 2-3 feet. The downwind guy, aft, has to lean forward and holler right into the forward persons ear. Basic rule, it you are in a helicopter, holler directly into the persons ear/face. It is that loud plus, at least one ear has an earphone in it. When everyone in the helo sounds off—like prior to a jump, you can hear it but you are still keying off a hand signal—did that help?
