OK. My bad. I listed that analogy while thinking about someone's comment that as a superpower we're obligated to help those who ask (or those in need) blah blah blah. That sort of mentality just seems so questionable. (And now that I think about it, the analogy still holds for "troops" if I were thinking about scenarios in generic absolutes.)
And even if you were omniscient and had unlimited resources, why would you help everyone that asks (acknowledging that you'd be helping condition vs. inviduals)? This would make you more "giving" than God (and I mean this figuratively, not literally). But, really...
