I posted this above but there are probably a hundred different ways we could be using the guard, from international aide, to rebuilding efforts in the south. Even filling the roles of currently deployed miltary. She's not trained as a truck driver spotting IED's and to send her there during an occupation (not a declared war)just to boost troop numbers is wrong. She isn't trying to get out of her guard committment, she just wants it to be the committment she was sold. And dodging active military service seems to not be so bad. Our last two presidents did it and came back to lead that same military! I do get your point though, and agree theoretically. A promise is a promise.
