Occasionally puzzled by military acronyms?

Posted by Janet W. on 12/7/2005, 10:10:08
I can't tell you how many times a story on the board has made less than perfect sense because I don't understand some of the acronyms ... and understandably, why would the authors want to spell them out: acronyms save a world of time.

So, go to this website (I have it in my favorites), type in the acronym and presto: answer. And if the acronym is unusual enough (like OODA) not to pop up right away, you're shunted over to another website, the Acronym Finder.

Try it - you'll like it.

p.s. OODA = observe, orient, decide, act, as in OODA loop.
