Father and Mother both Korean War era vets

My father was a fighter pilot instructor and my mother was a nurse, first in the Army, then, after seeing a sign in the dorm asking for volunteers for a brand new branch, in the newly created Air Force. One of my dad's students shot him down and my mom was one of his nurses during his recovery. My oldest brother caught the end of the Viet Nam war, but was stationed stateside. He spent 20 years in the Army then the Reserves. My younger brother spent 20 years in the Air Force, but never saw combat. My oldest son was Air Force for 8 years and went to Afghanistan. My youngest son is Army National Guard and currently in Kuwait as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. You can trace the military service back through the Smallwood family tree to the first set of brothers to come over in the 1700's, one of whom was a general in the Revolution. Although, they were all Johnny Rebs in the Civil War.
