Dad was ...

Army Air Corp (parachute packer)
Went into Navy for WWII... ran LSTs in Pacific/part of Marianna's Islands Campaign
Switched over to Air Force after WWII and taught Survival, Search and Rescue. Retired with 20+ in 1961.

Died Jan 12, 2004

Mom was career civil service, worked in Supply and Requisition. Retired with 30 years in service. Originally wanted to be a WASP (Women's Air Service Pilot) during WWII but Dad wouldn't let her enlist.

Died May 11, 2003 (Mother's Day).

I consider both of them Vets.

All uncles went into Navy.
Every genration seems to have had some military involvement of some kind, going back far as I can trace.
