My Dad was in the Army during WWII

Posted by Sue S on 11/13/2005, 8:12:43, in reply to "Role call of our fathers: How many of us are children of WWII veterans or veterans from other wars?"
He was "loaned" to the Third Army. He said he marched 3 weeks to hear Patton cuss him out. But he didn't talk a lot about it to his girls (he had three) about the War. He was there during D-Day. He said he knew that his best friend wouldn't make the landing because the friend had received a "Dear John" letter just before.

We lost Dad on 1/1/93 and we still miss him. I had Collin Raye's LOVE ME recitied at his service.
