My maternal grandfather was a WWI vet (Retired Army). Great story of him and a few buddies from his unit behind enemy lines where they "acquisitioned" a Nazi officer's Rolls Royce right outside a beer haus (complete with flags). Evidently they got the Rolls across the lines again and into US hands. Rumor was that the president rode in the re-detailed Rolls.
