Interesting article. And on surface looks like dear old dick is a straight shooter. However, politics and politicans are notorious for finding ways to beat the system, play the angles, get it under the table and line their pockets. Wait until he's out of office and see what $$$$ favors come pouring his way as payback. 'Oh Dick Old Buddy... here's that sweetheart deal I've been meaning to send you. Happy government retirement.' 'Hey Dick, found this in accounting. Seems we neglected to pay you for services rendered above and beyond.'

Also, found it interesting that the article said,

"It is true that Cheney has received just under $2 million from Halliburton since his election, but nearly $1.6 million of that total was paid before Cheney actually took office on Jan. 20, 2001."

So basically, they did pay him almost $2M, they just worked it so that it got to him after he was elected but before he was sworn in. That's what I mean by working the angles. Legal? "technically yes". Ethical. Nope.

Sorry, where's there's that much smoke, there's fire. These guys are all about pay for play.
