quitting buddy

OK... that doesn't seem quite right. I thought you were required to stay with your swim buddy.... but if you do what you're required to do you fail?

Does that mean that the non-quitting partner needs to not let the quitter make it to shore, but throws his butt into a boat instead?

Seems kinda unfair to punish a guy for doing what he's been ordered to do.

Or am I totally missing the point of the exercise?
