I don't believe that is true

nor have I had an enormous amount of luck convincing people otherwise :)
IMO, the greatest skills that SOF operators have are readily transferable to other endeavors. We are resourceful, we are decisive, we are comfortable with ambiguity, we are adaptable, resilient and at ease in rapidly changing enviroments. Were receive extensive training and real life experience in analysis, presenting information and finding solutions. We are master of thinking out of the box etc etc
I think that SOF does ourselves a disservice by focusing on how well we shoot as the true measure of our skill. For instance, we are extensively skilled in conflict resolution--can't do foreign internal defense if you can't resolve conflict between opposing factions. All that being said, it is a hard sell and quite frankly, easier to just go work for a contractor or teach at the specops University--which is what a lot of people do. Angela was correct in her observations that a lot of people just don't want to go into another bureacracy or work at a lessor level than they were use to--that was my case.
