Falling hats rarely wake me

Posted by Tom on 10/4/2005, 8:47:18, in reply to "Hey Tom...fatherly question..."
just failled that part of training. In the field on an actual missionyou really don't sleep--just kind of go into a restful state--but you are rotating watches and stuff so sleep is not a 8 hour under the comforter deal--so my subconcsious mind is very attuned to whater it needs to hear--whether that is squelch breaking on the radio or my child's cough it doesn't matter--I'll wake. THat said, if it doesn't matter I'll sleep through it--say, a whole episode of Desperate housewives--actual, as I was typing that, I remembered that when your on ambush-- if it is liely a long wait--you runn a string between positions and attach it to a button on each persons sleeve--so when the end person has movement he can tugg the string and wake people/get the focused without sound
