This is a wonderful theory, but again, how do you accomplish this? Better schools, early education in critical thinking? Is it truly possible at all? I'm not sure this one is. From the general population you delt with just in the Navy do you think it is?

You accomplish this by focusing on thinking not on answers--a freind of mine asks his son "Did you ask any good questions today?" when his son gets home from school. an interesting angle. Think of how many times you have heard "we need out of the box thinking"--what the bloody hell is that? Most people can't even define the box! Point is, it appears there is a need for it--and it won't be for everyone--the SEAL Teams are full of thinkers--it is really probably our greates strength--so the answer to the last question is Yes--but, like a lot of the things we are talking about, it will require effort, patience and perserverance
