Do I have suggestions about education? Suggestions, yes. Answers, I would never presume myself to be that smart! LOL!
My biggest issue is that education starts at home and it is my belief that parents just aren't putting the effort into it any more, hence my belief that there is a relationship between education and personal responsibility. Therefore, you can't fix the education system until you fix the home. And I don't foresee this happening anytime soon!
Am I the perfect parent? Absolutely not! But I sit and read with my children! I also explain things to them when they ask questions and I make sure that they are involved in life, not just the TV! I credit my parents with the knowledge that I have today. My education sucked! And if it wasn't for my parents and their drive to teach us in addition to what we got at school, I would not be the person that I am today! (Of course you may not like who I am today :g:)
I guess my overall point is that there are much bigger things to fix before we can even start on education. Do I think there is hope of doing this? A smidgen...That is why I am adamant about supplementing my children's education at home! Am I willing to help those children that do not have involved parents? ABSOLUTELY! Do I know how? Hell no!
But I think we are a bunch of intelligent women and I am sure that there are enough of us with enough ideas to come up with something good! Well, and Tom too if he so desires!
So now that I have take 2 hours to post this...I am going to go make dinner! LOL!
