Tom, if you drop by, getting back to Afghanistan for a bit --

below and a while back, regarding your time in Afghanistan, you mentioned:

"we poured over intel and looked for an op"

What does one look for? Is an op mostly gathering more intel or were you checking out location and movement of suspect groups? Were you checking nooks and crannys for insurgents? Did you go out in full battle dress, or go native? How cooperative were the locals - were there any you would trust to help if the op went sour?

"the worst feeling I have ever had was sending people out when I was sitting in AC"

So sitting in Afghanistan in AC is not the best environ for a SEAL? :)
