Brenda, see my post further down or, to repeat it. You don't have to be nice. Be very positve "get lost" or " leave me alone". As Tom said men don't take hints, sometimes they don't even take instructions, but if you tell him to go away with witnesses and he keeps coming back, then he is stalking you.
