My point is, I think you might be very good at doing this. Unless your speaking voice is like listening to nails on a blackboard, but somehow I doubt it. You could do a serious piece from your article/book one time and tell a story like you tell us the next. You would be a natural for that show.
It's a future career option you might want to consider. It would get you out of the house more than writing would too. Your wife might appreciate that....ducking as I waddle off as fast as I can!!
