1. You wrote "then the SEAL thing and then, oddly, because I failed to promote, I got to go to Iraq and eventually take command of the NAVSOF Afg Task Unit" How do promotions work in the Navy/Teams ? I know you said you have to accept the promotion. Is it something that generally happens at certain time intervals, or after certain accomplishments? Also when you left, did you have to request permission to leave?
2.Do you have any idea what the SEAL reputation is with the bad guys ? Do you know if they think US SOF or do you think they differentiate?
3. Are joint SOF operations more difficult than a SEAL operation? ...not in terms of mission complexity just in terms of operational ease. Since each force is trained differently, do you have things like communication issues etc. Who gets to be in charge?
