The whining part when the eldest was small. Learned to stand on my own 2 feet and look after things here by myself and take pride in it. Marriage runs much smoother, and he's proud of me.

Did you know that next to the military farming is the next most dangerous profession.

Friends of ours lost a neighbor to his farm bus -36yrs old, bank of his irrigation pond collapsed this summer while he was spraying his crop. His young son saw it. He drowned. And one of my husbands friends from Univ lost his bro when a barn floor collapsed this spring. He was 32 yrs old. He was crushed by a tons of corn that should not have been stored there.

That's only 2 that we personally know of.

I stood this spring and watched him work on the combine head. Underneath, all that held it up was 2 jacks and the hydraulics but they had to hold it up to work on it. If it had slipped....... I simply try not to think about it. Which is probably the same as most military wives or you'd never sleep.
