My 12 yr old nephew thinks he still requires hugs goodbye, not to mention his 15yr old step-brother (who's my "real" nephew) - although I've been advoiding him at holidays for a while now. The 12 yr old was staying with his grandmother (next door) a few weeks ago and was leaving our house (came for supper) and I simply turned my back at the sink and said goodbye to him. He got the hint, with a bit of a tiff - that boy is not subtle.
I think he's old enough to keep his hands to himself. Whether it be platonic, family or not.
I'm 10 days older than Tracy Y - 3 inches taller and not so skinny :)
