Not yur average think tanker

Correct! Which I think is how I got picked. It was amazing, really---sometimes amazing wow and sometimes amazing they are paying us, but always amazing. The mission of the organization changed, but we were doing "spiral concept development". SOme of you may be familiar with the idea of spiral development, which what we were doing was similiar too. An unclassified example: We have a good idea of the education system economy etc of country x so we can hypothosize the rate of proliferation of knowledge/technology in that country. So, given that, assess what their capabilities be in 2015. Based on those capabilites, what changes in our current operation plans must be made and/or what technology must be developed to counter that capability. So if Iran develops antiship cruise missiles accurate to 1500 miles, how does that change the battles space? You can't get a ship through the SUez or into the Persian Gulf until those batteries are down, or, your ships need to be harder to hit or you have to have better antiship cruise missile defense etc etc

so it was very intersting, but at the end of the day everyone thinking the thoughts will have been retired for five years by then so if we really botched it--oh well!
